This is the second short story I have bought by Matthew Hickman and the second one that has moved me. Hickman's characters truly make me feel as if I am standing in the same room watching the story occur, the dialogue unfold.In this story, Hickman expresses the incredible ability to see what isn't there (but what very well *could* be there) and make it not just happen (the meeting between Walt and Hem) but also to know and understand the different personalities of the men and what motivates them to say and do the things they do. You could swear Matthew may have actually known them personally.
I will be waiting for more stories, books, papers from Matthew Hickman.
